Introduction: Mr. Ibrahim Ashraf and Mr. Joseph Rajan from H.Dh. Atoll School, Vaikaradhoo, participated in a 15-hour workshop titled Capacity Building for Secondary Teachers: Teaching Students with Complex Learning Profiles, held at NOC building, Khuludhufushi City, from 31st August to 2nd September 2024.
Workshop Focus: The workshop concentrated on Special Educational Needs (SEN) inclusivity, language difficulties, gifted students, dyslexia, ADHD, and autism. The primary objective was to enhance teachers’ ability to support students with special needs in English language instruction.
Inauguration and Closing: The training session was inaugurated by Mr. Matheen, Principal of H.Dh. AEC School, Khuludhufushi. Dr. Aminath Nazima, Deputy Minister of Education, delivered a special closing speech and presented participation certificates alongside Mr. Adnan Ali, Principal of Affifudhin School, Khuludhufushi.
Conduct and Feedback: The training was effectively facilitated by Dr. Azra Abdul Raheem and Ms. Aminath Saeed and team. On the closing day, Dr. Azra Abdul Raheem, Senior Lecturer at MNU, provided a concise briefing on the training’s implementation scope. Ms. Aminath Saeed organized the closing ceremony, and Dr. Aminath Nazima emphasized the importance of applying the training insights within schools and communities, aligning with the curriculum vision.
Conclusion: The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks from a participant, marking the end of the 12th and final training session. The engagement of over 50 participants from H.Dh. and H.Alif atolls enriched the learning experience.
